Matthew Buxton is a queer writer from Salt Lake City and is currently an MFA candidate in poetry at the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program. He was a finalist for the 2024 YesYes Books Vinyl 45 Chapbook Prize, the Diagram Chapbook Contest, a semi-finalist for the Verse Tomaž Šalamun Prize, and a winner of the Hopwood Theodore Roethke Prize judged by Sumita Chakraborty. His recent work appears or is forthcoming in The Kenyon Review, & Change, Court Green, and Frozen Sea which nominated him for the 2024 Pushcart Prize.
